Five Minute Friday :: Loud

Little ones cries in the night.

Tractors racing down the road.

Music blasting from the pub across town.

Crazy silly laughter while playing outside.

Cheers from soccer matches.

Screaming, snot streaming tantrums.

Sizzling, baking, boiling food.

"Guten tag" to friendly neighbors.

Our life is busy. And it is loud. But it is full of love and joy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

  1. I agree (that I wouldn't have it any other way, that is!). Thanks for painting such a vivid picture of what life in your house is like; I love it. I can think of a number of less complimentary, less appreciative ways of describing a few of the items in your list! It seems like you have wonderful perspective, and that the people sharing the loud sounds in your life are lucky to have you.

    1. There are many times that I want to pull on some noise cancelling headphones, but then it hits me that these times with the little ones is so short. Helps me to refocus on living in the moment. Still a process and there are some days where quiet time comes a bit earlier than usual.

  3. Love it! In our neighborhood it's ATV's instead of tractors. I used to get aggravated, but it's become a quirky little sound of the community I've come to love. I'd miss that noise if it weren't there!

    1. At our last home all we heard was jet noise. Constantly. I never thought we would get used to it and now that we have moved away it is one of the things I miss most. Funny how those annoying things become some of what you miss most. :)

  4. Hi Erin! Just visiting. I love the picture of your life. It takes a certain amount of grace to see joy in the loud, but we are all the richer for it :-)
