Five Minute Friday :: Goodbye

my love in S. Korea (looking at N. Korea) during his remote tour
Goodbye is......

watching my love walk out the door (again) with the chance he may not return

scary

single parenthood for six months to a year

moving overseas and away from all that is known

sadness and excitement

embracing the life that God has so abundantly blessed me with even in the hard moments

trusting that God will make it all work

  1. Oh my... I cannot pretend to know I know what this sort of good-bye is like. This is a special calling for a wife. I do have a sister and a best friend who is called to the same sort of good-byes.

    My best friend, who trusts the Lord, saw so many miracles, and so much grace as He proved His promises true.

    Believing with you for a most beautiful Hello.

  2. I cannot imagine those kinds of good byes. But I do know that God gives tremendous strength and grace to the wives that have to do it. Blessings to you and your husband as you serve.

  3. I live in a military town and watch families go through this over and over. It takes a special strength both for the one leaving and the family they must leave behind. God Bless You!

  6. I can't pretend to know how it feels for a military wife, but I am a mom to military sons and have had to say some very hard good-byes. You are in my prayers. Believing God will indeed make it all work. Take care...
